BMR

Okay, so I am back to work and the No Excuses Project begins.

I am using my BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) to calculate my daily caloric intake for week one.  (This will be reasonably accurate for most of us middle of the road types and is not recommended if you are extremely buff or extremely overweight).

The BMR calculates the volume of calories your body would burn if you stayed in bed all day.  By using my BMR as my total calories consumed daily, I will jump-start my diet in week one.

Here is the calculation:
Women:  655 + (4.35 x Weight in Pounds) + (4.7 x Height in Inches) - (4.7 x Age in Years) = BMR
Men:  66 + (6.23 x Weight in Pounds) + (12.7 x Height in Inches) - (6.8 x Age in Years) = BMR
