No one can take the shot for you

People who make it happen in their lives know what they want, and they don’t let anything stop them from getting it. They understand that in order to realize their dreams, they need to put themselves first.
You may get confused when thinking about the idea of putting yourself first. It doesn’t mean you put yourself first at the expense of others. Rather, in this context, it simply means taking the time to assess what your authentic needs are and then striving to fulfill them. In a way, it’s a more refined step to take after becoming aware.
Sometimes people think they put themselves first, but they don’t. They say they do, they agree with the concept, but they never truly examine their wants and needs and take charge of their lives. They let compromise, self-doubt, and poor judgment muddy the waters and then find themselves stuck and frustrated. If they ramble aimlessly for too long, they can build a case for not doing anything. It’s safe, it’s sure—but it’s stagnant.
In golf, if you intend to win you have to get out and play. It’s your game; it’s all about you, your abilities, your desire, and your dedication. As soon as you step up to the first tee box, you are the one who is in charge of your game. So you visualize, focus, strategize, and you play to win. You get your head into the game, and to do that, you put yourself first. At that moment, you couldn’t care less about what needs to be done off the course, back at the office, or at home. You don’t allow anything to matter except for the task at hand. When you’re that keenly focused, your chances of succeeding on that hole grow exponentially.
